William T. Fithian MYERSTOWN William T. "Bill" Fithian, 64, formerly of Schaefferstown, died unexpectedly Monday, June 2, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Diane M. (Naphys) Fithian, to whom he was married 43 years on February 27. Born in Philadelphia on September 9, 1949, he was the son of the late Howell W. and Rose E. (Jennings) Fithian. A 1967 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, Philadelphia, he retired as a captain with the Philadelphia Police Dept. after 20 years of service on September 14, 1990. He was currently employed as an auto parts delivery man for Fred Beans of Doylestown. Bill was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed world news and politics. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kelly, wife of Chris Rittle, of Jonestown; sons, Bill, husband of Renee Fithian, of Narvon, Brian, husband of Emily Fithian, of Lewisberry, Dan, husband of Tawny Fithian, of Schaefferstown; eight grandchildren; brothers, John, husband of Susan Fithian, of Jameson, Gregory Fithian, of Philadelphia; and three nephews. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 658, Jonestown, PA 17038.
