Harold G. Engle, Jr. HERSHEY/PALMYRA Harold G. Engle, Jr., 84, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014, in his family vacation home in Mt. Gretna. He was born January 20, 1930, in Hershey, son of the late Harold, Sr. and Mildred (Wolfelsberger) Engle. Harold was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, a retired U.S. Navy - Korean War Veteran, and served more than 18 years in a Naval Reserve Squadron at NAS Willow Grove. He retired from Hershey Foods after over 39 years as a chemist. His memberships include: First United Methodist Church of Hershey; American Chemical Society; Antique Automobile Club of America; Hershey Rotary Club; 58 year member of Brownstone Lodge #666 F&AM, Hershey; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple Shrine, Zembo Legion of Honor; Hershey Shrine Club; and American Legion. Harold is survived by a daughter, Susan Engle of Washington Crossing; a son, Glenn and wife, Yoko Engle of Honolulu, Hawaii; granddaughter, Kristin Carney of Lincoln, Neb.; grandson, David Carney of Worcester, Mass.; granddaughter, Sandy Engle of Honolulu, Hawaii; and granddaughter, Shawn Engle of San Diego, Ca. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hovis Engle. Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the First United Methodist Church, 64 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey. Masonic Service will begin at 11 a.m. immediately followed by the funeral service. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Hershey Cemetery.
