John J. Peters JONESTOWN John J. Peters, 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rosanna M. Rudegeair Peters. Born in Port Carbon, on October 16, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles and Victoria Bensing Peters. John retired from Hershey Co., where he had worked in production. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. John was a member of the Jonestown American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, working with his bulldozer, spending time upstate, and going to the Hollywood Casinos. He especially enjoyed attending auctions and spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons, Charles J. and his wife, Wendy of Lebanon, Jeffrey P. and his wife, Paulette of Lebanon, William R. and his wife, Charline of Lebanon, and Andrew A. and his wife, Tammy of Hillsgrove; his daughter, Rita M., wife of Jeffrey Bates of Palmyra; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen, Richard, and Bob. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
