PALMYRA Christine Fay Burdge, 64, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in the Harrisburg Hospital. She was the wife of Sherwin Dale Burdge, who died in 1975. Born in Lebanon, on June 7, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John W., Sr. and Margaret F. Shifflet Via. She was formerly employed by the Hershey Medical Center and was a nurse's aid at the Palmyra Nursing Home. Fay formerly attended Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra, and enjoyed cooking for gatherings of family and friends. She was a dedicated mother and loved her grandchildren and extended family. Surviving are three sons, Michael T. Burdge, Sr. of Lebanon, Travis S. Burdge of Grantville, and David S. Burdge of Strasburg; nine grandchildren; four brothers, John W. Via, Jr. of Palmyra, Richard Scott Via of Palmyra, Kenneth G. Via of Grantville, and Steven M. Via of Palmyra; and two sisters, Barbara Worman of Hale, Mo., and Carol Nye of Benton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey L. Via; and sisters, Betty Via, Wanda Via, and Paula Via. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at 11 a.m. from Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, with the Rev. Douglas S. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E.
