James M. Daniels PALMYRA James M. Daniels, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. Born October 24, 1924, in Gratz, he was the son of the late Ralph and Beulah (Rickert) Daniels. Retired from Hershey Foods Corporation with 44 years of service, he was a lifelong member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Chocolate Workers Union #464 and a 62 year member of the Quigley-Baum American Legion Post 72, Palmyra. In the community he was active with the Palmyra Lions Club for 44 years, where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow recognition for dedicated humanitarian services. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Marie G. (Lehman) Daniels; beloved daughter, Elaine M., wife of Cory Bender of Hershey; sister, Betty Brandt of Lancaster; grandchildren, Tiffany, wife of Howard Williard, III of Lancaster, and Daniel Bender of New Cumberland; great-granddaughter, Abigail M. Williard; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Violet Kaley, Milton Daniels, Ralph Daniels, and Guy Daniels. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at his church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, preceded by a visitation from 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
