Jean E. Bedger CHICAGO Jean E. Bedger, 87, died January 4, 2013, in Chicago. Born in Lebanon, on July 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Mease Bedger. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1943 and Lebanon Valley College in 1947. After receiving her Master's Degree from Northwestern University in 1952 Jean spent four years on a Fulbright Scholarship in Australia teaching and studying at the University of Sydney. She started a long career in Chicago, Ill., with the YMCA, later with the Florence Crittenden Assoc. where she published "Teenage Pregnancy" and other works. Jean was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an educational society, a great athlete and sports fan. In 2009 she was inducted into the Lebanon Valley College Athlete's Hall of Fame. Jean loved her family and enjoyed weekends at her home in Lake Geneva, Wis. She is survived by her longtime companion, Virginia Carpenette; her sister, Louise Studenmund; and one niece and three nephews.
