Norma J. Smith FREDERICKSBURG Norma J. Smith, 73, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, at her home. She was the wife of Charles G. Smith. On February 7th, they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Born in Carnegie, on August 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Miller Valetta. Along with her husband, they were the owner and operator of Smith Auto Electric in Jonestown. She was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, Jonestown. She enjoyed her crafts and puzzles and in 1957 she was crowned Miss Renova. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Charles C. Smith of Birmingham, England; her daughter, Kathy L. Verke of Jonestown; grandchildren Brandon and Amy Verke; great-granddaughter, Sonya Verke of Palmyra; brothers, Jay Valetta of Hudson, Ohio, and Jerry Valetta of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Eric S. Verke. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. No viewing, but a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. www.kreamerlumfh.com
