James L. Clark

Obituary Condolences

James L. Clark MYERSTOWN James L. Clark, 84, Myerstown, died Friday January 31, 2014 in his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Clark to whom he was married for 59 years. Born in Anniston, AL on September 26, 1929, he was the son of the late James and Lila Brook Clark. Earlier in his life he and his wife were Missionaries in Ethiopia, East Africa with the Sudan Interior Mission. In his later years he worked as a pressman at Boyer Printing until retirement. James received his Diploma in Bible from Lancaster Bible College and a BS in Theology from Tennessee Temple College. He was an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Convention. James was a member of Mt. Aetna Bible Church. His greatest passion in life was to take the good news of Jesus Christ to those without the salvation offered only by God and only through faith in the finished work of the cross of Christ. He took this marvelous proclamation of truth to the continent of Africa in his early to mid-adult years and everywhere he went thereafter. In later and retirement years he served his Lord through visitation and encouragement. This took him to individual homes, to shut-ins, and to whomever the Spirit of God directed his steps. His utmost joy was to see just one more come to a saving faith in his Lord and, toward that hope, he endeavored until the end. He has fought the good fight. He has fininshed the race. He has kept the faith. And now there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award him on that Day. And not only to him, but also to all those who have loved Christ's appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Surviving are two sons: Timothy S. husband of Sherri Clark, Birminghan, Al; Bradley E. Clark of Marysville, TN, daughter Lauren B. Clark of Lebanon; and grandchildren Sarah Clark and Stephen Clark. Private funeral services will be held with interment in Grand View Memorial Park. A memorial service will also be held on Friday evening (February 7th) at Mt. Aetna Bible Church, Mill & Chestnut Sts., Mt. Aetna at 7 p.m. with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in his memory to Spread of Grace Ministries, 125 Calvary Church Rd., Wrightsville, PA 17368. The Rohland Funeral Home is honored to serve the family with arrangements.
