Thomas J. Lentz LEBANON Thomas J. "Triple T" Lentz, 69, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home. He was born on Tuesday, August 15, 1944, to the late Mervin Lentz and Evelyn Fitzgibbon nee Herb in Lebanon. Tom was a three sports star at Lebanon High School, graduating in 1962. He was a running back, a 1st team All-Central Penn League Choice in 1961, and 1st All Star in baseball and Cedars' leading hitter and captain. He attended Gettysburg College and played football. He was inducted in the Central Chapter Sports Hall of Fame, PA Sports Hall of Fame and LHS Sports Hall of Fame. Tom played local league softball and coached little league football for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0559 in Annville and volunteered his time to the Arthritis Foundation and Lebanon Rescue Mission. He was a past president of the Carlton Square HOA. Tom joined the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War. He attended Franklin & Marshall College with a degree in Business Administration. He worked at Bethlehem Steel as a manager in quality control. After the close of Bethlehem Steel, he joined the team at Sheehy Ford as general manager and later retired from sales at Chapman Ford. Tom enjoyed his family, watching all sports and spending time with his best canine buddy, Oscar. Surviving are wife, Cynthia M. Lentz nee Gibbel; sons, Duane spouse of Luanne Lentz, Darin Lentz; daughter, Shelly spouse of Randy Dinan; step daughters, Charlene Oberly, Lanette Feger; grandchildren, Riley Dinan, Lauren Leeper, Brad Bower, Tony Bower; step grandchildren, Damien Stansfield, Ryan Oberly, Amanda Feger; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Kevin Lentz. Pallbearers will be Bradley Bower, Tony Bower, Damien Stansfield, Ryan Oberly, Randy Dinan, Duane Lentz. Viewing will be on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with viewing starting at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice for All Seasons, 2741 Paxton St., Suite 200, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
