Jonestown
Gregory C. Scheer, 64, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Lebanon on March 14, 1952, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Arnold) Scheer. Greg worked in banking for more than 40 years. He was a member Mary Gate of Heaven Church in Myerstown, the Corvette Club and the Antique Auto Club in Hershey and was proud of his 1977 silver anniversary corvette. Greg enjoyed golfing and was an avid Penn State and Cincinnati Bengal's fan.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Jennie Boyer and a step-son, David Boyer; four step-grandchildren, Tara Bennethum, wife of Justin, Toccoa Boyer, Grace Boyer, and David Boyer; three step-great-grandchildren, Justin, Jr., Luke, and Brantley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Scheer.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 Mary Gate of Heaven Church, 188 W. McKinnley Ave., Myerstown. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held prior to Mass from 9 to 10 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gregory's name can be made to Mary Gate of Heaven or Penn State Children's Hospital, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033.
