ORTHNER, Siegfried Willem
The Lord saw he was tired and called him home Sunday, March 30, 2014 – 6 days shy of his 94th birthday. Cherishing his memory are Viola, his wife of 69 years; his children Ken (Judy), Sandra (Arden) Ullman, Susan (Kerry) Bond; grandchildren Kent (Rhea) Orthner, Kendra Orthner, Tara Kovacs, Aaron (Amanda) Ullman, Levon (Amber) Bond, Bryce (Kelly) Bond and Travis (Heidi) Bond; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother Oswald (Ethel); many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Elizabeth; and brother Alfred (Verna). Sieg grew up in the Serath District spending most of his early years farming. He served his country in WWII and as a civil servant for most of his career. Sieg's joys in life were his family, camping, travelling, creating beautiful wooden toys and bowls and puttering around. He enjoyed golfing and a good game of Bridge. The family would like to thank the staff at Wascana Veterans Unit, 3-6 , and PCH Broadway Terrace for the wonderful care they gave Sieg during his stay. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Sieg may be made to the Wascana Rehabilitation Center, Veterans Ward 3-6, 2180 – 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5 or Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina, SK S4S 4N5.
