WADE MOFFATT Obituary
With extreme sadness we wish to announce the passing of Wade Moffatt on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Wade was born on September 15, 1967, third of four sons of Ivan and Sandy Moffatt. He will be remembered for his energy, compassion and genuine nature. Wade leaves to mourn his wife Tami, son Kyle and family Danelle and Bailey, daughter Hillary and her children Adally and Octavia. He also leaves a grieving father Ivan and three loving brothers, Scott and his family, Debbie, Kate, Sara, Noah and Grace of Prince George, BC; Shawn and his family Charlene, Eric, Ashley and Kailey of Allen, Texas and Ryan and his family Kyla, Taryn, Nick and Carys of Weyburn, SK. Wade had an incredible loving extended family, his Aunt Sherry and Uncle Gary, Uncle Doug and Aunt Diane were always only a phone call away. His friendships were many, Ross, George, Ron, Ted, Lorne, Dave, Brian, Tom and so many more. Everyone who knew Wade could see his light but all of our light together was not enough to illuminate the dark around him. Our wish now is for your peace and that you can now feel the love we all had for you. Rest gently sweet Wade. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Friday August 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted on Wade's behalf to Canadian Mental Health Association- cmha.ca, Bell Let's Talk - letstalk.bell.ca or Pine Lodge Rehabilitation Center - Regina Recovery Homes Inc. I read his obit as I read all young peoples and your beautifully written lines "Everyone who knew Wade could see his light but all of our light together was not enough to illuminate the dark around him. Dear Tami and family.
Sorry to hear about your loss at this hard time. Mom and I just found out what happened and our condolences go out to you guys. Wade and Tami (and Kyle) lived in my grandparents suite in the early 90s and my baba and dido were test subjects for Wades videography in the early days. From them caroling at Ukrainian Christmas to baba making her Easter eggs to the 2 hour and 49 minute VHS documentary he did for their 50th anniversary, Wade always had a special place in our hearts and we were forever grateful. My brother and I ran into him a few years back on a business trip and were proud and glad to hear about his career and where it had taken him. I decided to start filming my own weddings in his style and he even had a tear in his eye when I showed him and told him I now too made that basement suite home and an edit suite to follow in his videography footsteps. I also am touched because I got sick a few years ago and in the midst of it I was in contact with him, but because of the stigma of mental health I never talked to him after I got better so this tragedy also hits home for me too. I hope at this time that the knowledge of what happened like Kyle said will even help one person or family. Again, Wade left our family with very precious memories and we are forever grateful. Dear Tami, Hillary, Kyle & families: As someone who has spent my career using words, I find it incredible that at this moment I just can't find the right words to express my sadness and love to you and everyone who has been touched and blessed by knowing Wade. I never had the privilege of working or running with him, but I was blessed for a brief time by his kindness and support for those of us who call ourselves the "Pioneers" of CKCK-TV. He acknowledged and admired what had been done by those who went before, and was supportive and encouraging of our efforts to honor and preserve the past while building for the future. There are many many people in many places whose lives have been touched and enriched by Wade's actions and spirit, and his legacy will live on in the years ahead. We are all richer and better because of this man who battled dragons and then went on before us to continue his quest and lead the way.

Dear Tami, Hillary, Kyle and families: I have spent my career working with words, and now find that I simply cannot find the right words to tell you how sorry I am, and how I wish that there was something I could say or do to lessen the sadness in our world at the moment. I never had the privilege of working with Wade professionally or as a volunteer for one of his many causes, I never ran with him or chatted over the fence, but I was blessed to have become his friend for a brief time when he was offering his support and encouragement to those of us who were "Pioneers" with CKCK-TV in the Glory Days. Wade recognized and honored the goals and accomplishments of those who had gone before -- and we are only a few of the many people in many fields who have been touched by his grace and kindness. Tami and family: I don't have the words to tell you how deeply sorry my family and I are for your loss. We knew Wade as a young boy and watched him grow into a fine young man. We lost touch with him after he graduated and became a working, family man but in 2012 he and I re-connected when he graciously accepted a request to be the Master of Ceremonies at the Centennial Gala for Moosomin Armoury. Wade not only accepted the role, he guided us toward a perfect evening with his enthusiasm and encouragement. He was a man who could light up and energize a room simply by entering it. The best part for me was the planning meetings we had where I was able to re-connect with him on a personal level. He will always have a special place in my heart. Tami, Kyle, Hillary and extended families. Wade was our shining light and best friend while Tom worked at CTV and I worked at Global TV. We were all thick as thieves in station events, and personal parties. I shall always remember how he greeted Tom-saying"Heyyyyyy", classic Wade.
