It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Rogers of Regina on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Jim was born in Saskatoon, SK. After graduating from Saskatoon Technical Institute he began his 37 year career with SaskTel. Throughout his life he met many friends as his career took him to the communities of Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale, Kindersley, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Ottawa and Regina. While in Melfort, he met a telephone operator, Gwen, who became the love of his life and they were married for 61 years. Jim was active working with the CNIB fixing talking machines, Telephone Pioneers and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed photography, golfing and wood carving. He was predeceased by his father Michael; mother Margaret; stepmother Verna (Kraft). Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gwen; children; son Bruce (Betty) and their family Meghan (Jeff) and their daughter Madelynne; and Steven; son Barry (Donna) and their children Bryan, Marnie (fiancé Jeff) and Michelle; Catherine (Rance) Best and their family David, Riley (Jennifer) and their daughters Georgia and Charlotte. A FAMILY SERVICE will be held at a later date. The family wish to thank the staff of Elmview Extendicare and Pioneer Village 3 West.
