JERE TURNER
May 6, 1933 – January 22, 2013
Jere passed away peacefully in the Regina Palliative Care Unit with family by his side. Jere is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley; daughters, D'Arcy (Wayne) and Karen (John); grandchildren Tara (Colin), Rory (Tamara), Trevor (Rachel) and Sheena (Gordon); step-grandchildren, Lane (Renee), Haley, Jody, Jason and Tyler; great- grandchildren, Dylan, Merrick, Lachlan, Drayden, Cheylynne, Connor and Blake. He also leaves to mourn his sister Priscilla (Ken) Smith and families. Jere's love of reading and libraries began before the age of 5. After a short career with SaskTel, he returned to school and graduated with a degree in Library Science. Jere worked at the Main Branch of the Regina Public Library as the collections coordinator. Following his retirement from the library, he focused on family, friends and reading. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in Jere's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
