Maggie CHARTIER Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post from Aug. 30 to Aug. 31, 2017.

MAGGIE CHARTIER
Marguerite "Maggie" Chartier passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Regina, SK on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the age of 65. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jacobus C. and Maria E. DeLaet and Victor and Irma Verhelst and her parents Emile A. and Maria J. DeLaet. She will be missed by her husband and soulmate, Guy Chartier; two cherished daughters Allyson (Shawn) Bradley and Kristen Chartier; her brothers Victor (Diane) DeLaet and Dennis (Cheryl) DeLaet and their families; one uncle; one aunt; several cousins; and a wide circle of friends. Maggie was always full of life and laughter. She forged many lifelong friendships while growing up in Benson, at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, singing and performing as Diamond Lil for Regina's Buffalo Days, at the lake and working in the printing industry. Maggie had a generous spirit and was always looking out for others. She served on the Board of Regents and sponsored tuition for students at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox. She was a business sponsor for several events and organizations in and around Regina and the Archdiocese of Regina. She valued her employees at Allied Printers and Promotions; many of them became friends. Although the day-to-day operations of her company kept her very busy, her main priority was always her family. She helped organize family get- togethers with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Maggie ensured that her mother was always well cared for and comfortable in her last years. She was a fun-loving confidante to her brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. She doted on her daughters; they knew that her love for them was without end. Maggie and Guy shared thirty-two years of married life travelling together, entertaining family and friends, and enjoying their dream home by the lake. Maggie will be remembered for her smiles, her laughter, and her joy of life. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK on Friday, September 1, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maggie's name to Bright Eyes Dog Rescue, 1448 King Street, Regina, SK, S4T 4G4. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit

I'm shocked and disturbed to just read of Margurite's passing! Having known her at Notre Dame in the late 60s, she was a wonderful soul who treated everyone with respect, and who's always cheerful light shone just a little brighter than the rest of us. Guy and Marguerite where mates from school days, I can't imagine this untimely loss for all of your family. Best wishes to all of you. Raymond Decorby
