Norman Artunder Steen Austring
The Guest Book is expired.
Norman Austring passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of July 4, 2012 at the age of 89 years. He leaves Lillian, his wife of 61 years to mourn the loss. His legacy lives on in his 8 children, 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren with a fourth one due this August. Norman is survived by Randi (Floyd); Bonnie (Owen); Lorne (Esther) of Whitehorse, Yukon; Darlene (Greg) and Geraldine, all of Adelaide, Australia; Barbara (Michael); Paul (Susan) and Daniel (Maggie). Norman loved to visit and socialize with his large and extended family and his many friends. He had many interests and those who knew him remember his passion for invention and appreciation for all things mechanical. His greatest pride was his work on the Avro Arrow Fighter Jet in the late 1950's. He also designed and built several inventions of his own. He was well known for his collection of tools and toys, National Geographic magazines, history books and maps of the world. He leaves behind siblings, Rueban, Inga, Evelyn, June, Juel, Donald and Shirley and his friend Tiger the cat. Norman was very proud of his Norwegian heritage and his Christian upbringing. Of all his accomplishments the passing down of his Christian heritage to his children and grandchildren is his greatest achievement. May Norman find peace, comfort and healing and "May God hold him in the palm of his hand until we meet again." A Funeral Service will be held for Norman at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Evangelical Free Church, 855 Broad St. N., Regina SK. A reception with friends and family will follow.
