Father Richard Lariviere of Gravelbourg, SK, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012, at the age of 91 years. Richard was the second child of Salem and Louisa Lariviere. He was born on September 24, 1921 in Gravelbourg, SK. Richard was ordained on July 25, 1949. He was the parish priest in Meyronne, Ponteix, Coderre and Courval, and spent many years as the administrator of the Gravelbourg diocese. Father Richard devoted his life to helping and loving others. He was instrumental in establishing Camp Lemieux and led the camp from 1953-1967. God has you in His arms, we have you in our hearts. Left to cherish Father Richard's memory is his sister Juliette Beauchamp; sister-in-law Aurore Lariviere; nephews and nieces Alain and Christian Clermont, Diane (Roland) Boire, Lise (Dale) Berger, Paul Beauchamp and Roland Lariviere. Predeceased by his parents Salem and Louisa (nee Veaudry) Lariviere; siblings Lucille, Simone, Wilfrid, Alice, Maurice and Georgette. Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. and Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., both from Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Interment will take place at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Father to Camp Lemieux, 600 Circle Dr., Swift Current, SK S9H 4E1.
