BRUCKER, Sheila Isabelle
(neé McCloy)
Passed away peacefully on June 23, 2012, with her family by her side, after a valiant fight with cancer. Sheila, the second of five children, was born on September 15, 1938 on the family farm in Gowanbrae, Saskatchewan to Bill and Bella McCloy. Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, friend and colleague. Sheila had a magical essence about her and truly epitomized the word Love. She was kind, loving, generous, fun, patient, accepting, tenacious, compassionate and joyful. She was treasured by everyone who knew her. She loved adventure and traveled the world with her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert. Her granddaughters, Rebekka and Sarah, were the lights of her life and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and good friends. She created beautiful homes in all of the places she lived, the last of which was in Nanaimo, BC. Sheila also loved to give to her community, golf, walk, hike, yoga, garden, cook, bake, decorate, picnic, drink red wine and to laugh and have fun with her family and friends. Our hearts will be forever broken but we are grateful that she is in a better place, and now in the great care of the Angels and her family and friends that have passed before her. Her luminous light and spirit will always be with us. Sheila is survived by her husband Robert Brucker, her three children and their partners: Cheryl Brucker-Mueller (Dean Mueller), Lynn Brucker, William Brucker (Libby Szarka); granddaughters, Rebekka Unrau and Sarah Mueller (Dallas Hesse); great-grandson, Jaxson Hesse; three sisters and brother-in- law, Patti Dodds, Colleen McCloy, Jean Bostock (Ian Bostock), mother-in-law, Rose Brucker, sisters-in-law: Louise McCloy, Pat Reichert and Bette (Jim) Reichert and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents, Bill and Bella McCloy, brother, Jack McCloy and father-in- law Rudolph Brucker. Our deepest gratitude is extended to Dr. Jim Mander and the Earth Angels, Carol Ward and all of the caregivers at Home Care Nanaimo and Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Hospital for their extraordinary tender and compassionate care of Sheila and our family. A Celebration of Sheila's Life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Broadway United Church, Regina, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Nanaimo Hospital in Nanaimo, BC.
