HOWIE, Vernon R. "Ozzie"
December 16, 1930 - February 13, 2013
Vern passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital after a long struggle with ill health, which he endured with great courage and good humour. He was predeceased by his parents Flora and Elias; brothers Jim, Charlie and Doug; sister Jean and nephew Brent. Vern is survived by his loving wife Marge; brother Dave (Bernice); daughter Janice (Maurice); son Kent (Cyndi); son Hal; stepdaughter Deborah Williams; stepson Kevin Williams (Lori); grandchildren Kaima, Jennifer, Emma, Rachelle, Daniel, Rhys and Leah; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Nephew Gene Howie was very close to Uncle Vern's heart. Kaylin, Meaghan and Issiah were also very special to Uncle Vern. Vern was employed in the Wholesale Plumbing and Heating industry for many years. He played ball for years, then coached youth ball and hockey. A great supporter of the Regina Rams, Regina Thunder and Saskatchewan Roughriders, he was always a willing volunteer. He also enjoyed horse racing - both thoroughbred and standardbred. As a genuine sports fanatic he watched and enjoyed all sports on television. At Vern's request there will be No Funeral Service. Cremation has taken place. Vern was a very special person; he was loved and will be missed. Family and friends are invited to sign the online obituary and tributes page at www.regina- memorial.ca. Arrangements entrusted to
