ALLEN, Ella Pearl (Slinn)
On Friday, June 6, 2014, our mother made her long-awaited trip home to be with her heavenly father. Pearl was 94 years of age at her death. She was born in Huntoon, SK on December 8, 1919, the middle child of Samuel and Olive Slinn. Pearl was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, William Avery Allen. She was also predeceased by her parents and 6 of her 8 brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Dale (Colette) and grandchildren Deighen, Gregory, Ryan and Michaela; son Dean (Elaine) and grandchildren Dena, Jadie and Shad (Pilar) and great-grandchildren Austin, Alejandro, and Armando; and daughter Lynda (Bob) Murray and grandchildren Stephen (Liz), Heather and Holly (Pascal Chagnon ). She is also survived by two sisters: Gwen McInnis and Ruth Loewen. Pearl spent most of her life in Regina where she was a long-time civil servant working for the Department of Health in the Hospitalization Branch. Pearl undertook many artistic endeavours and made beautiful crocheted and knitted creations. She was also an avid gardener. Her major occupation was that of wife, mother and Nana. The passion of her life was her Christian faith. She was a long- time member of Rosemont United, Hillsdale Alliance, and Living Hope Alliance Churches. Pearl spent the last months of her life in Solace Care Home. The family would like to thank the staff and management for their care and concern. A CELEBRATION OF PEARL'S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. At Pearl's request, all those attending the funeral are requested to wear bright colours for a true celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pearl may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or Plan Canada, 245 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 300, Toronto, ON M4P 0B3.Family and friends are invited to sign the online obituary and tributes page at www.regina-memorial.ca.
