GEORGE BERAR, AUGUST 26, 2008- Pre-deceased by his parents, Rebecca and Daniel Berar, brother Dan and sisters Alice, Mary and Emma; George is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Geana, daughters Shauna (Doug) Coons of Silton, Luanne (Mark) Frederick of Regina and son Darren (Wendy) Berar of Calgary, brother John (Ella) Donison and sister Jean Guraluik. He was a loving Papa to Stephanie and Jonathan Coons, Ashley, Shaya, Nathan and Tessa Frederick and Rebecca Berar. George was born October 6, 1931 on the family farm near Avonlea. The family moved throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta with his work as a Co-op store manager. They settled in Regina in 1972 where he worked at Westeel Rosco and Sears. George was an active community volunteer and a member of the United Church and various clubs. The Good Sam RV club provided George and Geana with many happy times in their retirement years. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina, SK with Rev. David Eskdale, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations can be made in George's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
