WATSON Ruby Geraldine Buryl (nee Burleigh) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Watson Sept 18th, 2010 of Esterhazy, Sask. at the age of 81 years. She was the beloved wife to the late Ronald Glenn Watson. Ruby was born in Regina on June 10th, 1929. Ruby was adopted and was raised an only child by her father THOMAS Burleigh. At the age of 67 (1996) she found her biological mother. Her biological mother died shortly after their meeting. Ruby is survived by three sisters Dorothy, Pauline, Margaret and one brother Spencer. Ruby worked hard all her life. Raised in Regina she started working at the age of 15 running a lunch counter. She worked for Army and Navy and Simpsons in the mail order department. Regina Steam Cleaners for 5 years. She also worked for Pat Burns Meat packing plant in all departments until 1953 when she married. Ruby dedicated her life to raising her 6 children. She loved children and while raising her own she also babysat many other children. Affectionately known as Nanny and kept in touch with them for many years. While raising their children Ruby and Ron lived in Lumsden, Sask. They then purchased their first Hotel in Glen Ewen, Sask. Shortly after they purchased their second Hotel in Alameda, Sask. They owned and operated these for many years. They sold the Hotels due to ill health and retired in jan. 1989 in Esterhazy, Sask. Ruby will be deeply and lovingly missed by her 6 children and their spouses Shannon (Doug) of Calgary, Alta., Gayle Watson of Red Deer., Neil (Cecile) of Glennifer Lake Alta., Rhonda (Rick) Slack of Glennifer Lake., Terry Ann Watson of Okotoks, Alta., Janine Watson of Esterhazy, Sask. She was also the dearly beloved grandmother of Tim (Angie), Tamara (Scott), Aaron (Sue), Jennifer, Dustin (Cass), Garett (Jennelle), Erin (Kevin), Tyler, Shawn (Jodi) Caylee, Danya, Kylee (Marietta), Jayme. She will also be lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren: Brandon, Kadin, Katelyn, Marisa, Jasmine, Ayden, Korbin, Trauner, Orion, Jacqueline, Lucas, and Piper. What greater thing is there for two human souls Than to feel that they are joined for life To strengthen each other in all labour To rest on each other in all sorrow To minister to each other in all pain to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories At the moment of the last parting. Loved you yesterday Love you still Always have Always will Thank you very much to the staff at the Cenntenial Special Care Home for being so kind. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ruby's name may be made to the Alzhiemers Association.
