Steve R. Toth of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Esterhazy Special Care Home. Steve, the eldest of four children, was born on August 16, 1927 in Otthon, Sask. to Stephen and Helen Toth. He worked at many jobs throughout his life, including grain buyer for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and many years in the Insurance and Real-Estate profession as well as a shareholder of Northeastern Cablevision. Steve was a member of the Esterhazy Masonic Lodge, Esterhazy Order of the Eastern Star and the Yorkton Shrine Club, taking many different offices. His love of sports included ball, golf and hockey. Steve was a founding member of the Esterhazy Golf and Country Club and was involved in all phases of hockey, playing "Old Flyers" Hockey until the age of 68. He was also a member of the Esterhazy Angels softball team. Steve married Marjorie Wickberg on December 27, 1955, and together they raised five children and shared 53 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his wife in 2009: his parents, Stephen and Helen Toth; and sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Jim Nicholson. Steve leaves to celebrate his life, his five children: Steven (Sandra), Cathy, Gerald (Donna), Tim (Candy) and Chris (Sherry); grandson, Cain; brothers, Jerry and Allan (Lillian), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church in Esterhazy with Rev. Heather Rogers presiding. If friends so desire, donations in Steve's memory may be made to the St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation Building Fund, Box 280, Esterhazy, Sask. S0A 0X0.
