SCHERLE, Eric (Ernest) Fredrick
It is with no regrets but extreme sadness, the Scherle family announces the passing of Eric (Ernest) Scherle on Sunday, January 20, 2013 after a brave struggle with cancer at the age of 75 years. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dorothy, and their children; Karen (Garry) Schultz, Ken (Shannon Thomson) Scherle, Wayne (Melanie) Scherle and Janice (Darcy) Ziegler and his precious grandchildren; Nicholas (Karlie), Michelle, Meagan, Ashley, Janelle, Derek, Blake, Nicole (Landen) and Jacqueline; his siblings Sigmond (Carol) Scherle, Leonard (Bernice) Scherle, Garry (Pat) Scherle, and Alma (Paul) Hulsemann; sisters-in-law Emma Scherle, Arlene Perreault, Sandra (Bonnie) Somers and brother-in-law Larry (Lee) Turigan; as well as many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Eva; father-in-law Chris Turigan; mother- in-law Bertha Turigan; sister Adeline Glass; brother Philip; brothers-in-law John Glass and Clement Perrault. Ernie's past times included camping, golfing, curling, fishing, coffee with friends, playing cards, helping everyone paint, travelling south in the winter and being a great supporter of his grandchildren's activities, whether it be a musical, piano recitals or sporting event. His sense of humour, generosity and faith in God were clear to those who knew him. There were many friends who were as close as family, but he loved and was loved most as the best Husband, Dad and Grandpa in the world. A VISITATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK with Pastor Bob Leeson and Pastor Dennis Hendricksen officiating. A special thank you and hugs to the wonderful caregivers, both Doctors and nurses at the Pasqua Hospital and Wascana Grace Hospice during the past few months of Dad's life. They were his angels. We are truly grateful for all they did for him and our family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ernie's memory to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
