On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013, Leslie Joseph Paul Pavelick passed away suddenly in Yuma Arizona at the age of 71 years. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Louis Pavelick, and beloved nephew Misha Pavelick. Les is missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Barbara, brother Lorne (Karen Mondor), niece Kathleen Underwood (Omar), Barbara's son Donald MacKinnon (Debra), daughter Alison Laratta (Joe), sister Joan Smith, grandsons, granddaughters and great- grandson. Relatives and special friends Olga, Daniel, Tannis, Jenna and Mike.
Les had a successful career in radio advertising sales and marketing. He garnered the respect of those he served. Les established long lasting friendships and his buddies loved him and the Met.
For over 40 years Les "Metro" made people laugh for the sheer joy of it. His "Eleven Days From Christmas" album sold over 50,000 copies, earning him a Canadian gold record. He raised over a million dollars for charities, entertained thousands of people with live performances throughout Canada, the USA including Canadian Forces overseas. He had several recordings and a book.
Les' memorial will be held at a later date, announcement will be forthcoming.
