NORMAN DUROCHER Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post on Oct. 11, 2013.
Norman Durocher
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend, Norman Durocher Sr. on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Adeline (Caisse) Durocher, his sister Rose Dwyer, and baby grandson Mitchell. Norman will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Rosanna (Gerard) Durocher. He is also survived by his two brothers Rene and Jerry Durocher. He also leaves to mourn his children; Maureen (Kelly) Bandas, Barbara (Jay) Kozack, Norman (Margaret) Durocher Jr., Sheryl Durocher. His 8 grandchildren; Amanda, Shawn, Stacy, Sharon, Clarke, Clinton, Shelley, Alanda. His 8 great grandchildren; Latrell, Desiree, Sienna, Zaiden, Maci, Aimin, Noah, and Ava. One lifelong friend, Jerry Villeneuve, and many other close friends and relatives. Norman was born on October 17, 1943 in Ile-a-la-Crosse, SK. Norman and Rosanna made their home in various communities throughout Saskatchewan where they raised their four children eventually settling in Regina in 1979. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching nature shows. He loved being outside and close to mother earth and nature. Throughout his years, he had many careers, he worked at the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, Regina Friendship Centre and University of Regina. His greatest passion was telling stories, especially to his grandchildren. Our family is very close due to the special love shared between Norman and Rosanna - they renewed their wedding vows at a special ceremony on October 13th of last year. He loved his wife dearly as well as his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are all very saddened by his sudden passing. Norman played a big role in our lives, he always cheered us on and told each one of us how much he loved us and how proud he was. His family meant the world to him. Memories is all we have now of him and they will be cherished in our hearts forever. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2013 at 10:30am at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK.

Another year has gone by and it is still hard to believe sometimes. I keep hoping it was all a horrible dream, but it was not, you are gone and you are missed terribly. You are in our thoughts, in our dreams, and in everything that we do. Love you and miss you so much Dad, that will always be true ❤. Rest in peace Dad.

I know you are still watching over us all. Just want to let you know, we all miss you. It is not getting easier like everyone keeps saying it will get. Life is not the same without you. I know our spirit never dies, the Angels tell me so. I always think of you especially when I look in the clouds, just hoping to get a glimpse of you one more time. You will always have a piece of my heart, till we meet again in heaven, love your girl.

It has been a very difficult year Dad without you. It was very healing to lay your ashes to rest with your mom. I know you missed her terribly and are with her now, and all of our ancestors that have gone before us. Somehow the family has found the strength to go on - but we are most certainly a changed group. Your love for us has pulled us through and will continue to throughout our lives. Until we meet again Dad. Love you forever. RIP <3
