With tears falling and hearts breaking, our family announces the passing of Ron Adam on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Ron was predeceased by his parents Tom and Ethel Adam; brothers Ray and Stan; baby sister in infancy (Nonie); brother-in-law James Karasin; sister-in-law Shiela Adam; nephew David; and great-granddaughter Lily Rae Holmes. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Phyllis; children Colleen (Rick) Holmes and Mark Oliver; grandchildren Chelsea (Joey), Jennifer, Shawna (Braden), Luke and Tyler; great grandchildren Draeden, Leah and Addison; brother Reg (Catherine); sisters-in-law Francis Karasin and Betty Adam; as well numerous nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan and Alberta; and his cat Jasmine. Ron was born in Lloydminster on December 16, 1933 and he grew up in Yorkton and Saskatoon. Ron was passionate about football and was quarterback for the Saskatoon Hilltops and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Ron co-owned and operated a service station then he moved into management with Sears from which he retired. Ron was a people person, he always had a happy greeting and a handshake that meant something. He had a unique laugh that we all loved to hear. Ron was a kind and gentle man, and a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always there for his grandchildren with a big hug and a listening ear. Ron especially loved holidays and looked forward to helping with the Christmas baking by eating all the broken cookies. Grandpa Ron will be missed by all of his family who love and treasure him. We are grateful for the beautiful spirit of Ron. Special thanks to the staff of Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. As per Ron's wishes there will be a private family memorial. Prayers to Phylis and family. I'm very fortunate and blessed to have grown up across the street from Ron and Phylis. Warm, welcoming, and always smiling! I always enjoyed visiting when I could. Ron, you will be missed. I know you will be watching down at us with smiles, and... especially during our Rider games!

I was fortunate to have Ron as my stepdad. He was a precious member of our family. He was a great support to me throughout my life. Somehow he found the strength to hold me up when we shattered by the loss of Lily.
Ron was there for the good times too. We enjoyed many family functions and kids activities together and made many great memories. Forgiveness and acceptance were demonstrated for my children by the way that Ron and my parents joined together to create happy place for everyone.
I will miss you, my wonderful friend.

Uncle Ron was a warm gentle giant that I have found memories of. It has been a long time since I had seen Uncle Ron but I remember my excitement each time I knew we would be seeing him, his big smile, his very big hands and his warm welcome. It was an honour to have known Ron and been part of his circle at one time.
My condolences to Ron's family members and close friends,I know his loss will be deeply felt.

To the Adam Family, friends and loved ones of Ron I am desperately sorry for your loss. I am writing from California and am honored and proud of the influence Ron had on my life. I am the daughter of Kent Adam, one of Ron's children that now currently lives in BC. On behalf of Kirk Adam, Patsy Godin and Kent Adam, I would like to send thoughts of love and appreciation to a man who had such inspiration over others. I am positive I have turned out for the better due to the upbringing and influence Ron had in my fathers life.
I know Ron's west coast family are in a time of reflection, remembrance and sorrow.

I remember Ron as a great neighbor who organized many crescent shinny games. How he managed to divide 50 boys (who all wanted to be on his side) into two teams remains a mystery.
Ron was one of the nicest people I have every met.

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. And I will never forget the way Ron and Phyllis made me feel. I delivered the paper to Ron and Phyllis for many years and I still remember that great big smile and warm welcome every single time I came to the door. Two of the most enjoyable, caring, genuine people I have ever met in my life.
I am so proud to have known Ron and I am thinking of you, Phyllis, in this difficult time.
