Vivian N. Sarchet, 87, of Vandalia, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Kent "Pee Wee" Denton officiating. Burial will be in South Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Loretta's Kitchen, Friendship Manor in St. Elmo. Mrs. Sarchet was born on Jan. 16, 1925, in Vandalia, the daughter of George and Gerti Lipple Hall. She married Jess Sarchet on Oct. 31, 1944, in Gatesville, Texas; he died on Aug. 24, 2005.
She worked at the Johnson, Stephens & Shinkle Shoe Co. and P.N. Hirsch Warehouse.
She is survived by sons, Mark Sarchet and his wife Lee Ann of Vandalia, and Jess W. Sarchet of Vandalia; sisters, Bessie Jones and Jane Hall; brother, Bill Hall; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Loretta Holman.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David Sarchet; three brothers; two sisters; and two granddaughters.

I worked with Vivian at the P.N.Hirsch warehouse as well as help take care of her at Friendship Manor where I am employed. She was a sweet lady and enjoyable person to know. She will be missed.
