Larry J. Nalley, 73, of Vandalia, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Dave Hall officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Evans Public Library Book Fund. Online condolences may be shared at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Mr. Nalley was born on Feb. 22, 1940, in Lincoln, Mo., the son of Woodrow W. and Loretta B. Koonce Nalley. He married Judy S. Ray on Dec. 1, 1979, in Vandalia.
He was a heavy equipment operator for and member of Local 520 Operating Engineers of Swansea. He was an avid lover of classic cars.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Robin and her husband Jeff Sturgeon of Patoka, and Lisa and her husband Doug Jones of Vandalia; grandchildren, Joey Sturgeon, Darren Jones, Macy Jones and Drew Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Nalley and Ronald Nalley; and sisters, Kay Nalley and Karen Boudreaux.
