Leota J. Damery, 92, of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Vandalia, died on Sunday, June 14, 2015, in Burleson. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Mrs. Damery was born on Nov. 13, 1922, in Vandalia, the daughter of Abie and Bessie Mae Bryan Dayton. She married Dale Damery on Sept. 14, 1941, in Monroe, Mo., and they divorced in February 1954. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Catalano of Colleyville, Texas; and son, Ronnie Damery of St. Louis, Mo.

Richard W. Daugherty, 56, of Ramsey, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, with the Rev. Nick Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery in rural Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Davis, Donna Lee (Strobel) - Springfield  
Donna Lee Davis, 85, of Springfield, formerly of Vandalia, passed away at 6:26 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the family residence. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: Memorial Home Service Hospice, 720 N. Mrs. Davis was born on Jutne 20, 1969, in Vandalia, the daughter of Charles and Lillie Watkins Strobel. She was raised by her oldest sister, Tina and her husband Stanley Miles. She married Charles L. Davis Jr. on Aug. 15, 1946, in Mayfield, Ky.; he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2005. She was employed at Johnson, Stephens and Shinkle Shoe Factory, Crane Packing Co. and the office of Dr. D.H. Rames, all of Vandalia. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a Girl Scout leader, delivered Meals on Wheels, taught Sunday school and Bible school, and was a kitchen volunteer for funeral dinners at First United Methodist Church. Donna's greatest pleasure came from spending time with family. She is survived by a daughter, Janet L. "Jan" Jackson of Springfield; grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Jason Root of Auburn, Shaun Dennis and his wife Ashley of Kernersville, N.C., and Ryan Dennis and his wife Anna of Lexington, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Asher, Greyson and Hadley Root, Carson, Michael and Addie Dennis, and Brenna Esenbock; sister, Evelena Howard of Elkins, W.Va.; son-in-law, Ron Dennis of Lexington, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Joanne Strobel of Brownstown and Florence Davis of Temecala, Calif.; brother-in-law, Robert Davis and his wife Mona of Chatham; and beloved pet, Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Terry Dennis; six sisters; five brothers; six nephews; and one niece.

Harpster, Dean Anthony - St. Peter  
Dean Anthony Harpster, 82, of St. Peter, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Private graveside services with military rites will be held on Friday at Old Loogootee Cemetery, with Elder Willie Huffine officiating. Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.pagelfuneralhome.com. Mr. Harpster was born on July 28, 1932, in St. Peter, the son of Ora and Fern Pryor Harpster. He married Patsy S. Gillett on June 1, 1962, in Fairview Heights. Dean was a lifelong resident of St. Peter, and served in the Navy for five years during the Korean War. In his lifetime, he was a carpenter, welder and farmer. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church in Greenville. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, splitting wood, listening to country music and watching old Western films. He also loved horses and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy; sons, Marshall Harpster and his wife Renea of St. Peter, and Wayne Harpster and his wife Shelley of St. Peter; daughter, Patty and her husband Doug Edwards of Xenia; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna L. Pegram; and a brother-in-law, Bud Pegram.

Bonnie K. Hill, 46, of Vandalia, died on Friday, June 12, 2015, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Myers, Leo G. - St. Petersburg  
Leo G. Myers, 87, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Ramsey, passed away at home under the care of family and Hospice on June 13, 2015. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of R. Lee Williams and Son Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. Memorials: Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Mr. Myers was born on Aug. 19, 1927, in Ramsey, the son of Leo and Gertrude Fromm Myers. He taught for 12 years at Pinellas Marine Institute during the late 1970s and 1980s, then at other Pinellas County schools. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by children, Cynthia and her husband Richard Baker of Pinellas Park, Fla., Michael Myers and his wife Pam of Moweaqua, and Jerry Myers and his wife Johanna of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by Peggy, his loving wife of 62 years, and his parents.

Survivors include her husband; son, Randall Lee Myers and his wife Carolyn of St. Elmo; and daughters, Pamela Jane and her husband Dennis Flowers, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Delbert Magnus, and Deborah Jean and her husband Bryan Long, all of St. Elmo.
