Bill Siebert, 74, of Smithboro, died at 8:24 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Greenville First Christian Church, with the Rev. Darryl Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Noffsinger Cemetery in Smithboro, with military rites accorded graveside by American Legion Post 1180 of Mulberry Grove. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Young Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Siebert was born on April 23, 1939, in Mulberry Grove, the son of Leland William and Lena Reavis Siebert. He married Judy S. Dothager on Oct. 1, 1965, in Pittsburg; she died on May 9, 2001.
He grew up in Mulberry Grove and attended Mulberry Grove schools, graduating from Mulberry Grove High School in 1957. After high school, he served in the Air Force, and after the service, he operated Siebert Shell Service Station in Mulberry Grove. He also worked as a groundskeeper at Greenville Country Club and drove a bus for Mulberry Grove schools. He was a former member of the KVS Club.
He is survived by daughters, Kendra and her husband Ian Evans of Suffolk, Va., and Kara and her husband Bryan Range of Highland; sister, Sandy and her husband Larry Johnson of Vandalia; and grandchildren, Kenna Range, and Kaden and Isak Evans.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
