Connie Deen Parker, 62, of Patoka, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Patoka United Methodist Church in Patoka, with the Rev. Clayton Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Magassi Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday, both at the church. Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Parker was born on June 26, 1952, in Centralia, the daughter of Earl Deneen "Slick" and Lucille Norris Walker. She married Edward Allen Parker on March 28, 1970, in Vandalia.
She was a member of Patoka United Methodist Church and Patoka American Legion Auxiliary Unit. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and playing cards with the pinochle card club. She was a proud graduate of Kaskaskia College with an associate's degree in medical transcription.
She is survived by her husband; parents; sons, Nick Parker and fiancée Serra Morton of Salem, and Robert Parker of Odin; grandchildren, Melanie Parker, Nicole Parker, Reed Parker and Isaac Morton; siblings, Kenny Walker and his wife Suzy of Patoka, Susan and her husband Butch Landreth of Patoka, Nina and her husband Jeff Tune of Patoka, Deenie and her husband Shane Forehand of Vandalia; and Donna and her husband Darren Sullens of Odin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Parker.
