Dolores D. Carroll, 81, of Vandalia, died at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Peter Kolb officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Carroll was born on Feb. 11, 1932, in Pana, the daughter of Cecil K. and Evalena Waller Palmer. She married Theodore "Ted" Carroll on Nov. 4, 1951, in Pana.
She retired from John Crane Inc. after 25 years of work. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Vandalia.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Kenneth Carroll of Las Vegas, Nev., Reynold Carroll of Vandalia, and Jeffrey Carroll and his wife Michelle of Vandalia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine and her husband Russell Varner of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dennis Carroll.
