Dorothy 'Dottie' Kistler, 81, Channahon
Dorothy "Dottie" Kistler, 81, of Channahon, formerly of Vandalia, died at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Morris Hospital in Morris.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Burial will be in German Reformatory Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation was to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Four Mile Christian Church or donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Mrs. Kistler was born on Sept. 3, 1932, in Chicago, daughter of Elbert and Dorothy Crain Poppen. She married Fredrick "Fred" Kistler on Sept. 25, 1954, in Chicago; he died on Oct. 5, 2008.
She was a homemaker, and she and her husband ran the Pepsi Cola distributing center in Vandalia for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Tricia and her husband Roger Banks of Channahon; grandson, Justin Ehrman of Channahon; and sister, Jean Snyder of Chicago.
