Marilyn J. Roberts, 73, of St. Peter, formerly of Shobonier, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: Vernon Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts was born on May 5, 1940, in Keyesport, the daughter of Delbert and Dorothy Schubert Gillett. She married Carl R. Roberts on June 30, 1956, in Newton; he died on Nov. 27, 2006.
She was a fabulous cook, and she enjoyed quilting and bingo. She also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and watching bull riding. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Dennis Roberts and his wife Maxie of Vernon, and Delbert Roberts and his wife Carol of Ramsey; daughter, Traci and her husband Eddie Wasmuth of Shobonier; sisters, Frances Perkins of Vernon, Patsy and her husband Dean Harpster of St. Peter, and Thelma and her husband Charlie Boothman of Centralia; brother, Virgil Gillett and his wife Jan of Patoka; grandchildren, Michael Roberts and his fiancée Chastity Garrison, Lindsay and her husband Jason Graumenz, Mathew Roberts and his wife Asheli, and Brooke Graumenz; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Harold Gillett and Charles Gillett.
