Mary J. Dooly, 94, of Vandalia, passed away at 8:02 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her home.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Randy Sarver officiating. Burial was in McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown. According to Ms. Dooly's wishes, there was no visitation. Memorials: McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown, Pleasant Hill Village, Brethren Home in Girard or American Diabetes Association. Miss Dooly was born on Sept. 9, 1918, in Vandalia, the daughter of Samuel J. and Clara A. Simpkins Dooly.
She worked as a sorter for John Crane Co. in Vandalia, and was a member of Hurricane Creek Church of the Brethren in Smithboro.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lucille Dooly of St. Charles, Mo.; nephews and nieces; and great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel P. and Arthur T.; and sisters, Martha E. and Daisy A.
