Norman Walter Hinrichs, 89, of Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Centralia Manor in Centralia.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka, with the Rev. Larry Woodward officiating. Burial was in Farmers Cemetery in Shobonier. Mr. Hinrichs was born on Aug. 10, 1924, in Lone Grove Township, Fayette County, the son of Walter and Eleanora Lange Hinrichs. He married Wanda Veal on May 27, 1966, in Vernon.
He farmed all of his life and worked construction. He was a past union steward for Carpenters Local 634. He was also a member of First Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Monty Hack and his wife Ellen of Webster, Fla., and Ronald Hack and his wife Misty of Vernon; grandchildren, Ace Hack and his wife Lindsey, Amber and her husband Bruce Kauffman, Justin Hack and his wife Kerri, Jordan Hack and Shannon Hack; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Hack, Caleb Hack, Kylie Hack, Cameron Hack and Bradon Kauffman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, David, Donalds, Robert and Arden Hinrichs.
