Robert Eugene Doyle, 85, of Decatur, formerly of Brownstown, died on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Laurie, Mo.
Mr. Doyle's remains were cremated. There will be a time of sharing with the family from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana. They will then leave the funeral home for an 11:30 a.m. inurnment ceremony at Price Cemetery in Oconee, with military rites accorded graveside by the Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Doyle was born on Nov. 12, 1927, in Brownstown, the son of William Otis and Cora Jane Lawler Doyle. He married Lois June Eckard on April 3, 1965.
He served in the Army
during the Korean War
. He was a self-employed mechanic and he owned a Texaco station in Decatur for many years. He loved fishing and Cardinals baseball.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Don Doyle and his wife Patti of Gravois Mills, Mo., and Rob Doyle and his wife Judy of Boody; grandchildren, Melissa, Zach, Jerrica and Brock Doyle; a great-grandchild, Zoey Doyle; and sisters, Marie Pinney and Wanda Fodor.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Raymond, George and Lloyd Doyle; six sisters, his twin Roberta Goldsboro, Florence Carson, Rheba Turner, Zelma Williams, Annabelle Reynolds and Velma Simpkins.
