Sue E. Henry, 69, of Vandalia, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia, with Judge Terry Gamber officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Wood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: St. Louis Christian College. Mrs. Henry was born on Aug. 25, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Andrew Harrison and Dorothy Louise Haynes Flatt. She married Gary Michael Henry on May 12, 1962, in Mt. Vernon; he died on Dec. 19, 2010.
She was a retired elementary and high school teacher's aide.
She is survived by daughters, Michelle Hagy of Vandalia, Marsha and her husband Troy Bloemker of Effingham, and Melanie and her husband Kent Sanders of St. Peters, Mo.; brother, William Flatt of Jacksonville; sister, Joy and her husband Terry Gamber of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
