Thomas R. "Kettel" Clark Sr., 68, of Ramsey, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Daniel Harriman officiating. There will be a private burial. Mr. Clark was born on June 22, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Clifton E. and Martha E. Harriman Clark. He married Sharon Shevlin on Nov. 10, 1962, in Centreville.
He was a retired coal miner, salesman and owner/operator of Clark Roofing. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1447, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and Lions Club, all of Vandalia; and the Coulterville VFW
Post. He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Kitty Hawk CVA 63 during the Vietnam War
. Thomas took great pride in his country and family. He also enjoyed outdoor evenings camping with loved ones and cherished friends.
He is survived by his wife and lifelong love of 51 years; sons, Tommy Clark and his wife Betty of Ramsey, and Ron Clark and his wife Kim of Vandalia; grandchildren, Angie, Bill, Tasha, Ashley and Levi; great-grandchildren, Jon, Trent and Kaiden; brother, James Clark and his wife Sharon Ann of Alhambra; and several nieces and nephews.
He was greeted in paradise by his parents and a son, William Joseph Clark.
