August Martin "Augie" Adermann, 90, of Vandalia, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, in Decatur.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Revs. Peter Kolb, Jerry Bagwell and Mike Damery officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Decatur or donor's choice. Mr. Adermann was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in Witt, the son of Ferdinand Gustave and Ellanora Godbersen Adermann. He married Emma "Rene" Rebbe on Oct. 27, 1946, in Vandalia; she passed away on July 20, 1988.
He was a retired molder for John Crane Packing in Vandalia and a farmer. Augie was a World War II Army veteran, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and Fayette County Farm Bureau, all of Vandalia.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara and her husband Roger Harting of Decatur, and Judi and her husband Jim Bubon of Mahomet; brother, Edwin Adermann and his wife Margaret of Vandalia; sister, Alvena Noffsinger of Vandalia; grandchildren, Joseph Martin Bubon, Kristin and her husband Jon Nelson, Jennifer and her husband Peter Farm, Brian Harting and his wife Rekha, and Jonathan Bubon; great-grandchildren, Paul and Sarah Bubon; Samuel, Benjamin and Daniel August Nelson; Isabelle and Tristan Farm; and Elina and Lily Harting; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Earl Aderman; and sister, Freda Moeller.
