Ada Pauline Daniels, 97, of Vandalia, passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Memorials: Unity Baptist Church or Evans Public Library, both in Vandalia. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Daniels was born on Aug. 8, 1918, in Vandalia, the daughter of William and Bessie (Bingham) Cowger. She married Kenneth Daniels on Nov. 26, 1935; he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2005.
Pauline was a homemamker, raising her and Kenneth's four children, and was a member of Unit Baptist Church, formerly First Baptist Church of Vandalia.
She is survived by daughters, Janet and her husband Myrle Spries of Carbondale, and Kay and her husband Derald Hulskotter of Vandalia; son, Alan Daniels and his wife Judy of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Kathy and her husband Scott Gehle, Randy Hulskotter and his wife Patty, David Hulskotter and his wife Ludmia, Danny Kelly and his wife Amy, Todd Spires and his wife Laura, Laurie and her husband Jim Williams, Keith Daniels and Eric Daniels; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Jim Kelly; brother, Harold Cowger; and sister, Maxine Mason.
