Adeline Dauphin, 85, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vandalia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Emmanuel Methodist Church in rural Brownstown, with the Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Avena Township, St. Elmo. Mrs. Dauphin was born on Jan. 8, 1928, in Sefton Township, Fayette County, the daughter of Ira and Adeline L. "Addie" Reeter Engle. She married John Dauphin; he preceded her in death.
She retired from Brockway Plastics as a foreman, working up to the age of 70.
She is survived by sisters, Joan Skaar, Kay and her husband Gary Traub and Marilyn and Gary and her husband Wayne Fleischauer; several nieces and nephews; and several friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Berle Engle, Kenneth Engle, Ben Engle and Jack Engle; and sisters, Mary Stites and Madelyn Feezel.
