Alan Kenneth Johnson, 43, of Vandalia, passed away at his home on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Chaplain Laurie Wilbert officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: To First National Bank of Vandalia trust for Madison and Lauren Johnson. Mr. Johnson was born on April 1, 1973, in Sandwich, the son of Roland E. Johnson and Karen K. (Limes) Johnson.
Alan graduated from Morris High School and continued his education at Indiana State University. He worked as a correctional officer at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro and Sheridan Correctional Center in Sheridan.
He was the proud father of two daughters, who were the center of his world. Alan was a kind-hearted soul who made friends with everyone he met. He was an avid sports fan on and off the field.
He is survived by his mother, of Morris; father, of Lisbon; daughters, Madison and Lauren Johnson, both of Vandalia; sisters, Diane and her husband Sam Espe III of Lake in the Hills, and Tammy Taylor of Morris; and nephews, David Taylor, Sam Espe IV and Nick Espe.
