Alice Pearl Koss, 85, of Altamont, died at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, with the Rev. Bernard M. Ross officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the church. Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Koss was born on Sunday, Feb. 16, 1930, in Mound Township, rural Altamont, the daughter of Edwin and Edna (Ferchow) Burrow. She married George C. Koss on Oct. 24, 1948; he died on Feb. 16, 1980.
Survivors include a son, Larry Koss and his wife Joann of Altamont; and daughters, Linda Sobottka of Boise, Idaho, Ruth Baucum of Vandalia, Mary and her husband Joe Roedl of Mason, and Julie and her husband Joe Luchtefeld of Altamont.
