Ann M. Emerick, 91, of Vandalia, died at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Peter Kolb officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Emerick was born on July 15, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Anthony and Sarah Nopoli Gerace. She married Lester "Marion" Emerick on March 30, 1946, in St. Louis; he died on Sept. 10, 1999.
She was a secretary for the Eakin and Emerick farm implement dealership, and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
She is survived by sons, Gary Emerick and his wife Elizabeth "Beth" of Vandalia, and Tim Emerick and his wife Patti of Vandalia; daughter-in-law, Ann Emerick; three stepchildren; sister, Faye Murphy of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronnie Emerick; brother, Johnny Gerace; and sisters, Mary Frasca and Angie Lanzone.
