Arthur N. Perry, 81, of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Effingham.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at First Pentecostal Church in Vandalia, with the Revs. Daniel McDonald and Paul Cagle Jr. officiating. Burial with military rites was in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday and one hour prior to services on Sunday, both at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: First Pentecostal Church of Vandalia. Online condolences may be shared at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. Perry was born on Aug. 18, 1932, in Vandalia, the son of Fred and Elsia V. Funk Perry. He married Betty Jean Horton on March 12, 1952, in Hillsboro; she passed away on Jan. 19, 2012.
He was co-owner of Shrine Memorial Vault Co. in Vandalia and was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and First Pentecostal Church, both of Vandalia.
He is survived by a son, Jay Perry and his wife Sayona of Vandalia; grandchildren, Aubrea and Ally Perry; and great-grandsons, Jasper and Collin Perry.
He was preceded in death by her parents; wife; and a brother, Norman.
