Barbara S. "Bobbie" Vaughan, 67, of Vandalia, passed away at 9:21 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital LTC in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Dr. Roger Grimmett officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday, both at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vaughan was born on Jan. 29, 1946, in Decatur, the daughter of William and Lola Stone Horn. She married Leslie "Les" Vaughan on Aug. 6, 1971, in Decatur.
She was retired from the Vandalia Community School District as a cook. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, where she was a very active member with the United Methodist Women and was involved with the children and youth groups. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
She is survived by her mother; husband; daughters, Renee Frost of Sullivan, and Carrie and her husband Chris Whitten of Vandalia; son, Andy Vaughan of Vandalia; sister, Diana and her husband Ed Quinton of Collierville, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Meghan Frost, Andrew Frost, Sophie Whitten, Ellie Whitten, Paige Dodson and Blake Torbeck.
She was preceded in death by her father.
