Betty Lois Isbell, 77, of Vandalia, died on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until time of services at the cemetery. Ms. Isbell was born on Dec. 19, 1935, in Vandalia, the daughter of Lonnie and Helen Crandall Isbell.
She works for Fayette County Hospital as a lab technician, and then as a sales clerk at her sister's jewelry store, Jane Isbell Jewelry. She was a past member and past president of Eagles Aerie No. 3901 in Vandalia, and a past member of American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by sisters, Doris and her husband Ed Helm of Vandalia, Donna and her husband Wayne Cunningham of Prairie Village, Kan., and Sue and her husband Don Musgrave at St. Charles, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Janice Isbell of Springfield and Jean Isbell of Charleston, S.C.; many nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, Koko.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom Isbell, Darrell Isbell and Miller "Corky" Isbell; and sister, Jane Isbell.
