Beverly A. Blackerby, 79, of Herrick, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in rural Ramsey, with the Rev. Gregg Shannon officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery in rural Herrick. Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at Miller Funeral home in Ramsey and one hour before services on Monday at the church. Memorials: Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackerby was born on April 21, 1938, in Ramsey, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Sarah Matilda "Tillie" (Craig) Fish. She married Earl Dean Blackerby on Nov. 24, 1963; he passed away on July 1, 2004.
Beverly was a retired postal clerk, working in Herrick and Effingham, and a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Ben Hur Literary Club and Home Extension.
She is survived by a brother, William Otto "Bill" Fish and his wife Joyce of Bloomington; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jerry, George, Henry and Rex Eugene; and sisters, Ruby Margaret, Josephine, Vida Mae, Juanita Belle, Betty, Lydia and infant twin of Rex Eugene.
